Something not working as it should?
Write to us. A human answers, usually within a few working days.
What to include
- What you were trying to do, and what happened instead.
- The exact text of the message, or a screenshot of it.
- Which device and which iOS version — for example iPhone 15, iOS 18.6.
- The version of the app: Settings, at the bottom of the screen.
- Whether you were at home on your own Wi-Fi, or connecting from elsewhere.
- Who installed your system, if you know — then the question can go straight to the right person.
Never send your password or your house key along. Neither is needed to look at a problem.
Frequently asked questions
The app cannot find my box
The app does not search by itself: it goes to the address entered under Settings. Work through this list from the top.
- Is this phone on the same Wi-Fi as the box? A mobile connection or a guest network will not reach the house.
- Is the first address correct? That is the address on your own network, usually an IP with a port number, such as
http://192.168.0.10:8421. - Is there also a second address for when you are away? An IP from the home network does not exist outside that network — that is what the second address is for. The app picks whichever one answers.
- If the app says the key was refused, it has been revoked or has expired: sign in again with your username and password.
- If the box does not answer in a browser at the same address either, the app is not the problem. Check that the box has power and that the network cable is seated.
If you are still stuck, email us the address shown in Settings and the message you see.
What if the internet goes down?
Everything connected locally keeps working. The box sits in your home and does not need the outside world to drive KNX, Modbus, DALI, Zigbee, Shelly or Philips Hue — your lights, blinds and heating, in other words. Your switches, your wall screen and the web app on the box notice nothing.
The app on your iPhone keeps working too, as long as you are at home on your own Wi-Fi — that traffic goes straight to the box and not over the internet.
Two things do stop. Operating the house from elsewhere, because that connection runs over your internet line. And the brands that can only be reached through their own cloud: a Miele oven, a Mitsubishi air conditioner through MELCloud, a Samsung washing machine, Spotify. Those show as "unavailable" while the line is down — your lights sit right next to them and work fine.
As soon as the line is back, so is everything else. You do not have to change a thing.
Does the app work without a box?
Yes, to look around. At the top of the screen where you enter your home's address there is a button, "See the example home". It holds an invented house with rooms, lights, blinds, a thermostat, scenes, a list and a full day of energy. You can switch and touch everything; it behaves exactly as a real house does.
In the example home the app makes no network connection at all. There is nothing to reach and nothing leaves.
"Leave the example home" takes you back to the sign-in screen, and whatever you switched there is cleared, so it starts tidy next time.
To operate your own house you do need a Lenou Core: everything the app shows then comes from that box.
How do I add someone?
Everyone in the house gets their own sign-in. You create it on the box itself, not in the app: open the web app of the house in a browser and add a user there, with a name and a role.
That person then installs the Lenou app and fills in, under Settings, the address of the house plus that username and password. The box then issues one key for that device. The password itself is never stored on the phone.
Someone leaving? Remove the user, or revoke the key for that one device. The other phones in the house are unaffected.
Privacy
The app collects nothing about you. What is stored, and where, is set out in the privacy policy.
